Dear Friends,
Well, the Painted Rocks of Amsterdam re-creation project is finally underway at Adirondack Studios in Argyle, NY! In a few short weeks we will be ready for the next phase of fabrication, but for now we have the basic steel framework nearly complete and standing in the shop.
Monday we begin to weld additional structure that will support the metal lath which shapes the final cement surface. Many of you know about the history (both ancient and recent) of the project, but I will be outlining the background of the project in future posts. I will also be documenting our work on a weekly basis in photos and video.
I will ask that no one put our info on Facebook, etc. until I get the go ahead to publicize widely. I invite your participation in the dialog, and hope that everyone interested in the project will reach me with questions and comments.
